Five years ago, at the age of 48, I became a mom to my daughter, Stella, who I lovingly call my miracle child. Finding out I was pregnant at 47 was the surprise of a lifetime. Before getting married, I spent years traveling the world, visiting Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with the freedom to explore wherever my heart desired. Travel was such a big part of my life, and honestly, I thought those days might be over when I became a mom. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
After Stella was born, I was nervous about traveling again. I didn’t know what to expect traveling with a toddler—how would I handle airports, flights, and long journeys with a little one? The fear of the unknown kept me grounded for a while. But with a little nudge from my husband, we decided to go for it and took our first family trip to Belize. Stella was just two years old, and while packing for a toddler was a challenge, that trip turned out to be one of the best decisions we ever made.
That trip opened my eyes to the possibilities of traveling with a child. I realized that not only was it possible, but it could also be an incredible adventure! Since then, Stella, my husband, and I have traveled all over, and along the way, I’ve mastered the art of packing, planning, and embracing the beautiful chaos that comes with traveling with kids.
Stella, now five, is my fearless travel buddy and truly the light of my life. Together, we’ve tackled everything from local road trips to international adventures, and I’ve learned countless tips and tricks that I’m excited to share with other moms.
